The media lost their collective minds yesterday after Trump said he would have gone in to help the students at the Florida school.

The media mocked Trump to no end. It was truly disgusting.

But not today.

Today they should be on their knees begging for forgiveness after an old story of how Trump saved a man from a brutal mugging is going viral.

From the Daily Caller:

Trump got out of his car and approached the man with the baseball bat. Trump said the attacker, “a big guy with a big bat,” delivered five or six “good whacks” before he arrived at the scene.

“The guy with the bat looked at me, and I said, ‘Look, you’ve gotta stop this. Put down the bat,’” Trump told The Daily News. “I guess he recognized me because he said, ‘Mr. Trump, I didn’t do anything wrong.’ I said, ‘How could you not do anything wrong when you’re whacking a guy with a bat?’ Then he ran away.”

It should be noted the incident did have witnesses. One said Trump arrived after the mugger took flight, but others say Trump was the reason the guy got scared and took off.

“All of a sudden, a big long limousine pulls up on an angle, and Donald Trump pops out with the blond, too,” an unnamed witness said. “There was a guy with a bat, hitting a guy over the head, and Trump yelled, ‘Put that bat down. What are you doing?’ The guy dropped the bat, came over and started talking to him.”

Either way, we do know for certain that Trump got out of his car and tried to do something to help the victim and truthfully, that is all he said yesterday – that he likes to think he would run in but you don’t know until the moment.

Based on history our money is on Trump going in and on the media covering every last second of his heroism.
