On “Hannity” Monday, Constitutional law expert and conservative radio host Mark Levin gave an expert explanation for why President Trump is right in asserting his authority to pardon himself, should the special counsel “witch hunt” bring charges against him.
Levin said that President Donald Trump cannot be indicted! He said that special counsel Robert Mueller may be the one trying to exceed his powers. (VIDEO BELOW)
Levin said that the president cannot be indicted going off a 1973 Department of Justice rule. He added that since Mueller is an “inferior employee [of] the Department of Justice, he must comply with the policies” of the DOJ.
“He can’t defy the [DOJ] and bring an indictment,” Levin said. “You can’t cripple the president of the United States… and expect him to have his due process constitutional rights defended at the same time.”
“Perhaps Mr. Mueller is the one who is the tyrant, not the president of the United States,” he said.
Levin continued saying the Constitution reserves presidential pardon power in any case except impeachment. (VIDEO BELOW)
Then, Mark Levin turned to the camera and said the one thing that will ruin Mueller: “It’s not the president who’s the thug, it’s Mr. Mueller who’s the thug!” Levin declared.
He noted the only way to remove President Trump from office is via a Senate vote, which was “the old fashioned way.”
President Trump does not want the Constitution violated, but it appears the left-wing media is hoping that it is, Levin expressed. (VIDEO BELOW)
President Trump tweeted, “As has been stated by numerous legal scholars, I have the absolute right to PARDON myself, but why would I do that when I have done nothing wrong?” Trump declared in a tweet Monday. “In the meantime, the never ending Witch Hunt, led by 13 very Angry and Conflicted Democrats (& others) continues into the mid-terms!”
