A motorcade carrying Kim Jong Un sped through the streets of Singapore on Sunday after the North Korean leader arrived. A jet carrying Kim had landed earlier in the afternoon amid huge security precautions on the city-state island. Singapore is only the fourth country Kim has visited since he became leader in 2011.

The Summit has captured intense global attention after a turn to diplomacy in recent months following serious fears of war last year amid North Korean nuclear and missile tests.

Kim Jong-Un’s every move will be followed by 3,000 journalists up until he shakes hands with President Donald Trump.

This historical summit, to be held Tuesday morning, has been three-months in the making. President Trump accepted an invitation to meet Kim in early March, and since then, diplomatic officials on both sides have worked tirelessly to prepare for this geopolitical event. (VIDEOS BELOW)

Mike Pompeo, Secretary of State, made two trips to Pyongyang to lay the groundwork for this meeting.

Previously, the President canceled the summit last month in response to a series of critical comments by North Korean officials; however, a flurry of diplomatic activity, which involved meetings at the inter-Korean border, in Singapore, and even in the U.S. managed to get the summit back on track. A personal hand-written note from the North Korean leader sealed the deal, convincing Trump to continue with the summit.

The focus of the meeting is peace in exchange for North Korean denuclearization. President Trump has made it clear that this is Kim’s only shot. (VIDEOS BELOW)

“I feel that Kim Jong-Un wants to do something great for his people,” the president said Saturday, “And he has that opportunity, and he won’t have that opportunity again.”

While the President was in transit to the summit, he said, ” It will certainly be an exciting day and I know the Kim Jong-un will work very hard to do something that has rarely been done before…”

This summit could potentially change the world. An agreement could be signed, officially ending the Korean War.

The two world leaders, Trump and Kim, will meet for the summit beginning at 9:00am on Tuesday at the Capella Hotel on Sentosa Island.

Kim Jong-Un has said he wants to focus on building the North Korean economy – and thus wants sanctions relief and international investment.

The question is what concessions he is willing to make, and whether he will stick to any promises. Pledges to scrap the nuclear program have been made before by his predecessors.

We will be covering updates on the Summit in the coming days. Stay tuned into this historical, global event as it unfolds! Let us know what you anticipate will happen in the comments below.
