Congressman Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) joined Maria Bartiromo on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures for a power packed interview on the 2018 midterms.
McCarthy discussed the success of the Republican parties’ policy and compared it against the Democrat’s agenda for the midterms. (VIDEO BELOW.)
RESULTS Vs. RESISTANCE
Maria begins the segment by getting to the heart of the midterms. She said to Kevin, “It feels like you are going to have more success on the Senate side than the House. At least, that’s what the speculation is, right now.”
Kevin agrees and said the “Senate has a much better map.” Then he explained how the Congress majority is typically opposite of the party in power at the White House.
So, if there is a Republican President, then the Majorities in the House and Senate are usually Democrats.
McCarthy digs into history.
“But there’s two times that’s been different,” he tells Maria. “when you look at what this [Midterm] election is going to be about. It’s going to be about RESULTS vs. RESISTANCE.” Specifically, he said, “Pelosi’s resistance.”

McCarthy shares with America a few statistics and achievements of the Republican 115th Congress.
He said, “The last time there was a party in power that had economic growth at 4%, they actually GAINED seats.”
“Take this one statistic: In the last 49 years of America, unemployment has only been under 4% only 8 months. 8 months in 49 years. But 3 of those months – were this year,” Kevin tells Maria.
Furthermore, “unemployment claims are at a 44 year low,” he said.
The Congressman continued, “What I am most proud about is that it cuts across all parts of America.” African-Americans, Hispanics. Every American is enjoying the benefits of this soaring economy.

McCarthy touches on rebuilding the military. The overhaul of the Veteran administration reform. The lifetime GI bill.
He discussed the human trafficking they are dismantling. And he says the Congress has “done the most to end the opioid epidemic of any Congress before us.”
Additionally, the “49 States who got lower electrical bills” and everyone who received a ‘bread crumb’ benefited from the historic tax cuts.

“If you measure our results versus Pelosi’s resistance…not one Democrat voted for that economic package,” he reminds America.
Moreover, Pelosi wants to reverse the tax cuts. McCarthy said, “not one democrat voted for that. They thought it was Armageddon.”
The Democrats want to impeach the President and they want to abolish ICE.
And make single payer healthcare a permanent thing. McCarthy said, “55% of American’s have Health Care through their employer. That would END.”
“But the scariest thing about this? Those who are on medicare – you will end. Because they will bankrupt it before you put everyone into it,” he mentioned.
