Kavanaugh Issues Immediate Response In Wake Of Ordered FBI Investigation

After an emotional day of testifying on Capitol Hill Thursday between accuser Christine Ford and Judge Brett Kavanaugh, a vote followed on Friday afternoon by the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The committee voted 11-10 to recommend Kavanaugh, with previously undecided Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) supporting him. (Video Below)

After the committee voted in Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s favor, Flake at the last-minute called for a delay in a full floor vote asking for an FBI investigation “limited in time and scope.” While backing Kavanaugh, Flake said he’d only be “comfortable” moving ahead on the floor if the FBI investigates further.

Flake met with Democrats behind closed doors and took their bait, but he said the pause should last for no more than one week.

The development caught the White House by surprise, just as the momentum started to shift in Kavanaugh’s direction.

Minutes later, when asked by reporters whether he’s willing to re-open a background investigation, President Trump said: “I’m going to rely on all of the people, including [Sen. Chuck] Grassley, who is doing a very good job. That will be a decision that they are going to make and I suspect they will be making some decision soon.” (Video Below)

Shortly after, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued a statement from the President.

“Statement from President @realDonaldTrump: “I’ve ordered the FBI to conduct a supplemental investigation to update Judge Kavanaugh’s file. As the Senate has requested, this update must be limited in scope and completed in less than one week.”

Following the statement from the White House, Judge Brett Kavanaugh also issued a statement saying, “Throughout this process, I’ve been interviewed by the FBI, I’ve done a number of “background” calls directly with the Senate, and yesterday, I answered questions under oath about every topic the Senators and their counsel asked me. I’ve done everything they have requested and will continue to cooperate.”

Judge Brett Kavanaugh is not backing down or falling for the smear tactics from the democrats.

Democrats want the Judge to crack but he won’t. During yesterday’s hearing, Kavanaugh declared he won’t give up. He’s fighting for his name, his integrity, and his family.

This is all a big game for the democtrats. They want to derail President’s Trump’s nomination and take their power back.

Further, they know that the FBI doesn’t come to any kind of conclusion and they’ve had months to seek an FBI investigation, but chose to wait until the last minute for their political games.

This is a political war in Washington.
