Tuesday, Lt. General Michael Flynn was in Court for his sentencing hearing in front of Federal Judge Emmet Sullivan.

The Court allowed spectators in the galley, and among them were America’s watch dog and President of Judicial Watch, Tom Fitton. Also, Sara A. Carter our favorite investigative reporter. (MORE BELOW.)

Why didn’t the Flynn attorney’s address the elephant in the room during the hearing?

Initially, during the hearing, the Mueller Special Counsel attorney’s were accusing Flynn of “treason.”

Later, Fitton tweeted, “Special Counsel backs away from Logan Act pretext and ‘treason’ under questioning by Judge Sullivan.”

Bloomberg explained, the context of the lie mattered in relation to the Logan Act. “Nearly two years after the FBI trapped Flynn, the crime the Justice Department was investigating remains unknown.”

“If it turns out that the reason Flynn was a target is as flimsy as violating the Logan Act or not being candid with his colleagues, then that itself is a scandal. The FBI’s independence is not a license to interfere in American politics,” Bloomberg reported. (MORE BELOW.)

Fitton expressed his disappointment in the Flynn lawyers for not discussing the improper targeting of Flynn.

Sara A. Carter who was in the Court room with Judicial Watch’s President, tweeted, “Sullivan grilled both prosecution and & appeared to be imploring Flynn (repeatedly asking if he wants to withdraw guilty plea) or postpone the sentencing during the first half of court proceedings. Flynn didn’t withdraw plea -went with attorneys 2 discuss postponing.”

Then America’s watch dog wrote, “The Flynn sentencing hearing was disappointing as the lawyers, despite hints to do so from the Court, refused to talk about the elephant in the room — the McCabe/Comey/Strzok/Mueller improper targeting of General Flynn.”

In ending, Fox News reported on the new hearing date of March 13, “Judge Sullivan should vacate Flynn’s guilty plea, dismiss charges against him, order the FBI to pay his legal fees, and sanction Mueller and his band of enraged Democrats for this grotesque miscarriage of justice.”
