During an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper, Sen. Corker was pressed about a statement he made to The New York Times after the Commander in Chief made the bold decision to pull out of Syria.

“I question whether he runs again,” Corker told The New York Times. “He’s having difficulty handling the situation. I don’t think he understands the seriousness of what he just did in Syria.”

Corker seemed to backtrack his comment on CNN however, when asked about his statement, he responded to Tapper, “Look, I look at what’s happening this week. You know, I don’t know. We’ll see.” (Video Below)

Corker said that the next three months could determine whether or not President Trump runs in 2020.

He also told Tapper that he was so privileged to have been able to serve in the Senate for 12 years. “That’s what I told the people of our state I would do, is serve for two terms. I do wish I was serving for 12 years and 3 months.”

President Trump took note of Sen. Corkers comments and called him out on Twitter. (Video Below)

The President wrote on Twitter Sunday, “Senator Bob Corker just stated that, “I’m so priveledged to serve in the Senate for twelve years, and that’s what I told the people of our state that’s what I’d do, serve for two terms.” But that is Not True – wanted to run but poll numbers TANKED when I wouldn’t endorse him.”

Trump added, “Bob Corker was responsible for giving us the horrible Iran Nuclear Deal, which I ended, yet he badmouths me for wanting to bring our young people safely back home. Bob wanted to run and asked for my endorsement. I said NO and the game was over. #MAGA I LOVE TENNESSEE!”
