Trump Issues A Letter To Pelosi Exactly One Week After She Asks For SOTU To Be Delayed

President Trump sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) Wednesday pledging to continue on with the State of the Union address.

This comes amid her trying to postpone his address to the nation. The President is calling her bluff and laying down the hammer. (Video Below)

He wrote, “I look forward to seeing you on the evening of the 29th in the Chamber of the House of Representatives.”

Further, the President said, “It would be so very sad for our Country if the State of the Union were not delivered on time, on schedule, and very importantly, on location!” (Video Below)

The president tweeted Sunday that “there are so many options” he’s considering to give the address. “Nancy, I am still thinking about the State of the Union speech, there are so many options – including doing it as per your written offer (made during the Shutdown, security is no problem), and my written acceptance. While a contract is a contract, I’ll get back to you soon!”

President Donald Trump is preparing for two different State of the Union speeches – one a more traditional address delivered to Congress in the House chamber or some other location in D.C., the other prepared for a political rally at a location outside of Washington, D.C. that has yet to be determined, according to multiple sources familiar with the planning, ABC News reported on Tuesday.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders posted the President’s Wednesday letter on Twitter, one week after Pelosi tried to postpone the State of the Union address. (Video Below)

The President’s letter reads:

Dear Madam Speaker:

Thank you for your letter of January 3, 2019, sent to me after the long Shutdown began, inviting me to address the Nation on January 29th as to the State of the Union. As you know, I had already accepted your kind invitation, however, I then received another letter from you dated January 16th, 2019, wherein you expressed concerns regarding security during the State of the Union Address due to the Shutdown. Even prior to asking, I was contacted by the Department of Homeland Security and the United States Secret Service to explain that there would be absolutely no problem regarding security with respect to the event. They have since confirmed this publicly.

Accordingly, there are no security concerns regarding the State of the Union Address. Therefore, I will be honoring your invitation, and fulfilling my Constitutional duty, to deliver important information to the people and Congress of the United States of America regarding the State of our Union.

I look forward to seeing you on the evening on January 29th in the Chamber of the House of Representatives. It would be so very sad for our Country if the State of the Union were not delivered on time, on schedule, and very importantly, on location!

Sincerely,

Donald J. Trump
