GOP Chairwoman, Ronna McDaniel took to Twitter Sunday where she roasted Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) after a desperate attempt he made to appeal to the radical left.
Eric Swalwell interviewed with Margaret Hoover, the host of PBS’s “Firing Line With Margaret Hoover,” and he made a complete fool of himself. (Video Below)
Margaret Hoover grilled Rep. Eric Swalwell on Friday over his obsession with Russia and his unverified claims that President Trump is an agent of Russia.
Hoover asked, “At what point do you draw the line and not accuse the president of the United States without any evidence of being an agent of Russia?”
“Yeah,” Swalwell responded. “He’s betrayed our country, and I don’t say that lightly.”
“But betraying the country — by the way, we want evidence before you say that, but you said an agent of Russia,” Hoover fired back. (Video Below)
Swalwell continued, “Yeah, he [Trump] works on their behalf.”
He tried to list off “claims” that were examples of President Trump working for Russia before Hoover pointed out that Trump has passed sanctions against Russia, armed Ukraine, and has killed 200 Russians in Syria.
After back-and-forth exchanges, Hoover said, “I’m still not hearing the evidence that he’s an agent of Russia.” Then, Swalwell responded, “Yeah, I think it’s pretty clear. It’s almost hiding in plain sight.”(Video Below)
GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel took note of Swalwell’s interview and roasted him on Twitter.
She wrote on Sunday, “Want to know why Dems will lose in 2020? Exhibit A: Candidates like Eric Swalwell. They’re so desperate to appeal to the far left that they make insane comments like “Trump is an agent of Russia” that are totally extreme and indefensible.”
She continued, “Here @MargaretHoover lays out the facts: 3.9% unemployment, highest wage growth in a decade, economic fundamentals better than under Obama. But 2020 Dems like Swalwell can’t even acknowledge an *ounce* of progress under @realDonaldTrump.”
The GOP Chairwoman added, “Dems are already tripping over themselves to make wildly out-of-touch statements like these. Americans can see firsthand the progress we’ve made under @realDonaldTrump. Dems’ liberal views & policies didn’t work in 2016. Being even more radical won’t work in 2020, either.”
