Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) took to Twitter after House Democrats unveiled a counter proposal on border security and blasted it as “pathetic.”

The proposal removes them further away from President Trump’s $5.7 billion for wall money.

According to CQ News, the six page outline, which has not yet been released in legislative form, would eliminate the 1.34 billion for fencing along the southwest border that party leaders were ready to accept just weeks ago, and which was included in the fiscal 2018 omnibus appropriations law enacted last March (PL-115-141).

With the government funded through February 15th, that means another shutdown is just a couple weeks away, and if a deal can’t be made, the President said “it’s within his power to call a national emergency.”

Pelosi will get nothing for her base if the Democrats don’t negotiate, but President Trump will get the wall. Further, the President can enact 10 U.S.C. § 284 as Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) brought up on the House floor this week. (Related: While Grilling A Defense Official, Rep. Proves How To Build A Wall Without Congress Or Nat’l Emergency)

Senator Lindsey Graham took to Twitter Friday blasting Democrats, then he called on Republicans to get behind the President to declare a national emergency.

Sen. Graham wrote, “House Democrats’ border barrier/wall offer is PATHETIC. I hoped that Democrats would make good faith effort to strike a deal on border barrier/wall, DACA, and TPS. Unfortunately, it seems they hate @realDonaldTrump more than they want to solve problems.”

He added, “Republicans need to get behind President Trump emergency declaration to build wall/barrier. Looking like he has no other option.” (Continued Below)
