With One Bold Word, Trump Declares How He Will Handle Congress Voting Against The National Emergency: ‘VETO!’

President Trump took to Twitter Thursday afternoon after the Senate passed a resolution of disapproval 59-41 to stop the national emergency for the southern border.

dozen Republicans broke with Trump and voted with all Democrats to pass the resolution on Thursday, with many lawmakers saying the emergency declaration violated the Constitution’s separation of powers, reported The Hill. (Video Below)

President Trump delivered a quick response to the Senate’s vote to cancel his national emergency at the southern border, and he wrote on Twitter, “VETO!”

The president has not yet officially vetoed the measure, which has not been enrolled and delivered to the White House, but was instead reiterating his plans to do so, per The Hill.

Trump followed with an additional tweet and said, “I look forward to VETOING the just passed Democrat inspired Resolution which would OPEN BORDERS while increasing Crime, Drugs, and Trafficking in our Country.”

He then expressed his gratitude to the Republicans who didn’t cave. “I thank all of the Strong Republicans who voted to support Border Security and our desperately needed WALL!” He added. (Video Below)

Twelve Senate Republicans from different corners of the party banded together Thursday to deliver President Trump the biggest rebuke of his presidency, voting to disapprove of his emergency declaration for the Southern border, per The Hill.
