During her interview with Chris Wallace of Fox News, Sarah Sanders got an opportunity to vent her take on Democrats’ push to obtain President Trump’s taxes from the IRS.
Sarah simply feels Democrats are not “smart enough” to shift through, what she thinks will be, thousands of tax documents. Nor does she believe the House committees have a valid basis to request such documents.
Sanders posted a clip of her Sunday interview with Wallace that she captioned, “Democrats in Congress aren’t smart enough to understand the President’s tax returns and probably don’t even understand how to do their own…”
In the video, Sarah said that Trump already has said he will not release taxes that are currently under IRS audit, the also filled out hundreds pages of financial disclosures and the whole subject had already been litigated back in the 2016 election.
Sanders stated, “The only reason the Oversight Committee has the ability to request someone’s taxes are for the purpose of determining policy. This has nothing to do with whether or not they are determining policy.”
“This is all about political partisanship,” she continued. “This is a dangerous, dangerous road.” Video Below
Sarah went on to say, “I don’t think Congress, particularly this group of Congressmen and women, are smart enough to look through the thousands of pages that I would assume President Trump’s taxes would be.”

She added, “My guess is they certainly don’t do their own taxes and I certainly don’t trust them to look through the decades of success that the President has and determine anything.” Video Below
