Former Deputy Attorney General, Sally Yates, suggested Sunday on NBC’s “Meet The Press” that President Trump likely would be indicted on obstruction of justice if he were not the President.
Yates’s comments come after special counsel Robert Mueller’s report on the investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election was released to the public and concluded that there is no evidence of coordination between Trump’s campaign and Russia.
“I’ve been a prosecutor for nearly 30 years, and I can tell you I’ve personally prosecuted obstruction cases on far, far less evidence than this,” Yates said Sunday.
“I believe if he were not the president of the United States, he would likely be indicted on obstruction,” she added.
As The Hill reported, Yates finished her interview by emphasizing that the examples detailed may point toward other issues with Trump’s presidency. “I think, really, the bigger issue is not just whether or not this establishes a crime that can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, but is this the kind of conduct that we should expect from the president of the United States?” she said.
President of Judicial Watch, Tom Fitton, caught wind of Yates’ remarks and swiped back immediately. (Continued Below)
Fitton took to Twitter in a series of tweets where he exposed Sally Yates for her targeting of General Mike Flynn, along with pointing out how she signed off on the Steele dossier to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on the Trump campaign.
Fitton wrote, “Sally Yates abused her office in both the Obama AND @RealDonaldTrump administrations and should be the subject of investigation by law enforcement.”
He also wrote in response to a troll on Twitter and said, “Yates should have been fired for her illegal targeting of General Flynn. Seeing the disgraced Yates on TV again is another reminder why @RealDonaldTrump should pardon General Flynn.” (Video Below)

False. Though Yates should have been fired for her illegal targeting of General Flynn. Seeing the disgraced Yates on TV again is another reminder why @RealDonaldTrump should pardon General Flynn. https://t.co/YmfBRLPtdr
