Team Mueller Caught Manipulating Transcripts To Make Them Appear More Damaging

California Republican Congress Devin Nunes, the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee called out Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report as a “fraud” exposing how the investigators just happen to leave out information from the report to make it appear that President Trump’s counsel may have been obstructing justice.

This comes as transcripts were released Friday from a voicemail message left by President Trump’s former lawyer, John Dowd, to National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s lawyer, Robert Kelner.

Robert Mueller’s team conveniently made it appear in his report that John Dowd was asking for a “heads up” if Michael Flynn planned to say anything damaging about Donald Trump, implying possible obstruction by his counsel.

However, now that the full transcripts have been released by a court order, it appears to be, in fact, quite different. Robert Mueller “transformed” the transcript and left out the most significant parts of the message to make it “appear that Dowd was attempting to obstruct the investigation.”

Mueller had redacted two significant portions of the voicemail message transcript, which according to numerous critics, reveal there was no intention of obstruction. In fact, as Trump’s attorney Dowd was only doing his job, reported Sara Carter.

Nunes and other Republicans exposed a side-by-side comparison of the Dowd transcript text Saturday and the Mueller report text. It shows that the Mueller report did not disclose Dowd’s full message. And there’s a reason why – it would’ve taken the steam out of Mueller’s second half of his report that there was a possibility of “obstruction.” (Continued Below)

According to Sara Carter, in the report full version of Dowd’s voicemail, it says he wants the heads up “not only for the president but for the country.” He also specifically stated that he did not want “any confidential information.” Conveniently, Mueller kept those two significant statements out of the report using an ellipsis (… so it makes one wonder how many other convenient factors were left out of the Special Counsel’s report.)

Here’s what the Mueller report quoted from the voicemail:

“I understand that you can’t join the joint defense; so that’s one thing. If, on the other hand, we have, there’s information that … implicates the president, then we’ve got a national security issue, or maybe a national security issue, I don’t know … some issue, we got to — we got to deal with, not only for the president, but for the country. So … uh … you know, then-then, you know, we need some kind of heads-up.” The phone call took place in November 2017. (Continued Below)

From Sara Carter:

  • First Muller leaves out that Dowd wanted a heads up “not only for the president, but for the country” as stated by Nunes and others reporting on the matter.
  • Secondly, and most importantly, he emphatically states he is not asking “any confidential information.

As per the Conservative Treehouse, on Friday, the Mueller team released the transcript of the call (full pdf below). However, as originally noticed by RosieMemos the released transcript clearly shows the Mueller team selectively edited the transcript to weaponized their portrayal of the contact.

A response surfaced from Dowd to “EXCLUSIVE We got a statement from former Trump lawyer John Dowd, responding to the Special Counsel’s deceptive edits of his voicemail to Flynn’s lawyer “It is unfair and despicable. It was a friendly privileged call between counsel – with NO conflict. I think Flynn got screwed”

Rep. Devin tweeted, “This is why we need all backup and source documentation for the #muellerdossier released publicly. It’s all a fraud…”

President of Judicial Watch, Tom Fitton said, “Mueller special counsel Dossier, again, can’t be trusted. AG Barr should order full review to assure the public to expose the other misstatements, half-truths, and lies. @JudicialWatch already asking for the background under FOIA to expose the truth.”

Dan Bongino wrote, “Here it is folks. Additional evidence that the Weissmann/Mueller “investigation” was a fraud from the beginning. It’s horrifying to watch a once respected public-servant destroy his reputation over his hatred for Trump. Weissmann was never respected so he had nothing to lose.”

Donald Trump Jr chimed in and wrote, “This is really damaging to the Special Counsel’s already damaged credibility. Why delete those two lines in a lengthy, 490-page report? No reason other than to make it appear more damaging than it actually was.”

Sara Carter said, “Devin Nunes has always held Mueller accountable. It appears he was right again based on the unreacted voicemail transcripts. Nunes: Mueller’s Report Is A ‘Fraud’ To Target Trump. Transcripts Suggest He Purposefully Left Out Information.”
