CNN Hires McCabe After Expressing Outrage At Sanders & Spicer, GOP Responds: ‘Anti-Trump Propaganda Network’

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe will join CNN as a network “contributor”, according to senior media reporter, Oliver Darcy at the Cable News Network.

“Former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe, who became one of President Donald Trump’s top enemies within his own administration, is joining CNN as a contributor, a network spokesperson said. His first day is Friday,” reports CNBC.

Andrew McCabe was dealt a stunning blow just days before he would have been eligible for a lifetime pension. He was fired in March 2018, after the DOJ’s Inspector General concluded in his report that McCabe had made an unauthorized disclosure to the news media and lacked candor − including under oath − on multiple occasions.

“Pursuant to Department Order 1202, and based on the report of the Inspector General, the findings of the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility, and the recommendation of the Department’s senior career official, I have terminated the employment of Andrew McCabe effective immediately,” former Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement.

Michael Horowitz determined that McCabe hadn’t been forthcoming in regard to the handling of the FBI’s probe into Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of state in the Obama administration.

McCabe filed a lawsuit earlier this month against the FBI and the Department of Justice; suing the agency for his pension and retirement funds while blaming President Trump for his termination. (Continued Below)

Thursday on CNN, Brian Stelter, who hosts a show called “Reliable Sources,” displayed outrage over former press secretaries Sean Spicer, who will be joining “Dancing With The Stars”, and Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who is joining Fox News.

Stelter claimed that the Trump administration has a “record of misleading the public” adding that “this administration lies consistently.”

“Whether it’s Sanders, Spicer or other White House aides– and it’s all led from the top by a President who lies even about the weather and time of day. That, I think, is why this ‘deserves’ ‘outrage and backlash.’ Obviously, Sanders going to Fox is not surprising, but it should still be surprising that somebody who misled the public and defended a man who calls the press the enemy, would land these kinds of jobs,” Stelter claimed. Republicans respond to the news of McCabe:

Donald Trump Jr. took to Twitter and wrote, “REMINDER: Andrew McCabe was fired by the FBI for leaking and getting caught lying about it. ANOTHER REMINDER: @CNN ceased being a “news organization” a long time ago. They’re now a fully integrated anti-Trump propaganda network and they don’t even try hiding it anymore.”

He continued, “In the last 24 hours we’ve learned that @NYTimes is employing a self-avowed anti-Semite as political editor @CNNhas hired a man fired from the FBI for lying. These are the same ‘news’ orgs that claim they have the moral authority to lecture the rest of us. Give me a break!”

Don Jr. added, “Andrew McCabe and @CNN are truly a match made in #FakeNewsheaven.”

Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) said, “The guy who DOJ inspector general found committed federal crimes & is a serial liar? Good work, CNN. Love to see that commitment to serious journalism.”

President of Judicial Watch, Tom Fitton corrects CNN’s statement and wrote, “Or: @CNN hires FBI official who plotted a coup against @RealDonaldTrump, was fired for lying to the IG repeatedly for leaks targeting Hillary Clinton, and is the subject of a criminal referral for these leaks.”

Deputy Director of Communications for President Trump’s 2020 campaign, Matt Wolking, said, “Andrew McCabe was fired by the FBI for leaking to the media and lying to the FBI about it. I guess crime does pay.”

Chief political correspondent for Washington Examiner and a Fox News contributor, Byron York, said, “Less than 24 hours after questioning FOX decision to hire Sarah Huckabee Sanders as contributor, CNN announces it has hired…Andrew McCabe. Look forward to his commentary on Horowitz IG report.”

Mollie Hemingway, Senior Editor at the Federalist and Fox News contributor responded, “Andrew McCabe, one of the central figures of the “Russia collusion” hoax, who was fired from the FBI for lying about his leaks to the media, has been hired by CNN, one of the media outlets that did the most to perpetuate the damaging hoax.”

Political editor of at Townhall and a Fox News contributor, Guy Benson said, “McCabe was fired for repeatedly lying to federal investigators under penalty of perjury & referred for prosecution by the IG. Tim Young tweeted, “**BREAKING** CNN kills the remainder of its credibility (what little it had left) by hiring Andrew McCabe, former acting director of the FBI WHO WAS FIRED FOR LEAKING STORIES TO THE MEDIA TO BENEFIT HIMSELF AND LYING UNDER OATH. I can’t believe this is real.”

He added, “CNN hired Andrew McCabe, who was fired from the FBI for LYING UNDER OATH… of course… that makes perfect sense.”
