During a press conference on Tuesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced that the House of Representatives will not hold a vote authorizing an impeachment inquiry “at this time”.
Last month, Pelosi formally announced that Democrats are moving forward with an “impeachment inquiry” into President Trump claiming “the President must be held accountable” for his “betrayal of his oath of office, betrayal of our national security, and the betrayal of the integrity of our elections.”
Republicans have since called for a fair and transparent process, and they have also urged the House Speaker to call for a vote if they are serious about impeachment. A vote would give Republicans the same rights as Democrats, such as being able to call witnesses and subpoena power.
Pelosi, however, said on Tuesday, “[T]here’s no requirement that we have a vote, and so, at this time, we will not be having a vote.”
She also responded to a question on why they wouldn’t just vote to call the White House’s bluff by stating they’re not there to call bluffs.
Pat. A Cipollone, counsel to the President, sent a scathing letter to House Democrats last week, in response to what he called their “numerous, legally unsupported demands” for a “partisan and unconstitutional impeachment inquiry.” Video Below

Rep. Lee Zelin (R-NY) said, “House Dems & @SpeakerPelosi are continuing to make up the rules as they go. The Speaker just announced that as of now there won’t be a floor vote for an impeachment inquiry. Meanwhile, they continue to operate their kangaroo court in secret in the Capitol basement. Total sham!”

Senior Advisor to President Trump’s 2020 campaign, Katrina Pierson, asked, “My question to all of the #DemDebate candidates: If @realdonaldtrump committed all of crimes that they are convinced that he committed, if he’s so horrible & unpatriotic, and is the most ‘corrupt President’ in United States history… Why won’t Nancy Pelosi have the VOTE?”

Why won’t Nancy Pelosi have the VOTE?🤔
