Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) took to Twitter on Wednesday to proclaim “finally the day has come” as the House of Representatives debate articles of impeachment on the House floor ahead of voting on two articles to impeach President Trump.
The Democrats’ two articles of impeachment allege abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
Rep. Waters wrote on Twitter Wednesday, “Finally the day has come where #impeachment will be voted on in the House of Representatives. If possible, take time to listen to the debate.”
“Democrats have done our work and laid out the facts: Trump abused his power & obstructed Congress,” she claimed.
“We’re on the correct side of history,” Waters added.
Waters has been one of the most outspoken critics of President Trump and was the first member of Congress to call for President Trump’s impeachment. In an interview with Essence, Waters said, “I have been calling for and talking about impeachment of this president since his inauguration. I observed him very closely during the campaign. And I thought that he basically defined himself.” (Continued Below)
Maxine Waters did not attend the inauguration of President Trump and had said, “I wouldn’t waste my time.”
She tweeted on Jan 15, 2017, “I never ever contemplated attending the inauguration or any activities associated w/ @realDonaldTrump. I wouldn’t waste my time.”
Last summer, Waters called for public confrontations with Trump administration officials. “If you think we’re rallying now you ain’t seen nothing yet,” Waters told supporters at a rally in Los Angeles. “If you see anybody from that [Trump] Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.” (Continued Below)

Impeaching President Trump has been at the heart of the Democrats’ agenda since day one.
They chose to ignore the facts and have abdicated their duty to the Constitution and to the American people.
