House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) held a news conference Thursday and was pressed on why she is still holding the articles of impeachment amid its “urgency”.

Before she held her presser, President Donald Trump tweeted earlier in the morning calling impeachment a “joke” and “scam”.

President Trump tweeted: “Pelosi doesn’t want to hand over The Articles of Impeachment, which were fraudulently produced by corrupt politicians like Shifty Schiff in the first place, because after all of these years of investigations and persecution, they show no crimes and are a joke and a scam!”

During her news conference, Speaker Pelosi was asked, “Are you holding the articles indefinitely?”

“No, I’m not holding indefinitely. I’ll send them over when I’m ready,” Pelosi said.

“And that will probably be soon. … We want to see what they’re willing to do and the manner in which they will do it. But we will not let them say, ‘Oh, this is just like Clinton’ … it’s not. Documentation, witnesses, facts, truth, that’s what they’re afraid of,” Pelosi claimed. (Continued Below)

Then, CNN’s Manu Raju questioned Pelosi on the delay of the articles after Democrats declared that impeachment was urgent. “Democrats called the president a danger to democracy, … so shouldn’t you move more expeditiously?”
