During a virtual event on Monday, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) announced that he is endorsing former rival, Joe Biden.
“We’ve got to make Trump a one-term president, and we need you in the White House. I will do all that I can to see [that] happens,” Sanders told Biden during the live event.
“Today, I’m asking all Americans– I’m asking every Democrat, I’m asking every Independent and I’m asking a lot of Republicans to come together in this campaign, to support your candidacy, which I endorse, to make certain that we defeat somebody who I believe … is the most dangerous president in the modern history of this country,” Bernie Sanders said.
Sanders’ endorsement comes less than a week after he suspended his own presidential campaign.
Biden thanked Sanders for his endorsement during the live stream, saying it’s “a big deal”, adding: “I think that your endorsement means a great deal, it means a great deal to me. I think people are gonna be surprised that we are a part on some issues, but awfully close on a whole bunch of others.”
“I’m gonna need you, not just to win the campaign, but to govern,” Biden also said. Video Below
