Nancy Pelosi: “Vote-By-Mail Is More Democratic … This Is One Of Our Hills Of Rome That We Will Fight & Win”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) spoke with MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell on Wednesday, claiming that “vote-by-mail” has become a “health issue” for the safety of the November general election, which is six months away.

“First of all, we’re now calling it ‘vote-at-home’, Pelosi said. “Because that’s really what it is all about– enabling people to vote at home.”

Pelosi said of the $3 trillion legislation relief package that House Democrats recently tried to pass, includes “additional funds, 3.6 billion dollars, which is what is necessary for us to conduct an election”.

“Every voter would receive an absentee ballot– that there would be same-day registration– that for those that need to vote on election day, whether it’s disabilities, concern about their ballot ect., that there would be safe opportunities for them to do so, well in advance of election day, but at adequate locations that are safe,” Pelosi said.

“This becomes a health issue. This becomes a health issue,” she reiterated. “As we saw in Wisconsin, standing in those lines, for that amount of time, going to places that are enclosed is dangerous to your health. And again, vote-by-mail is more democratic– it gives people more options. It removes obstacles and barriers to voting, which is what we want to do, voting at home.”

“… This is a health issue, in addition to a convenience issue for the American people, in terms of shelter in place. … So this is one of our hills of Rome that we will fight and win, and it is about the good health of the American people … but not exposing themselves to injury,” Pelosi said. On Wednesday, President Trump took to Twitter expressing his concern over voter fraud.

“State of Nevada ‘thinks’ that they can send out illegal vote by mail ballots, creating a great Voter Fraud scenario for the State and the U.S. They can’t! If they do, ‘I think’ I can hold up funds to the State. Sorry, but you must not cheat in elections,” President Trump tweeted on Wednesday.

“Michigan sends absentee ballot applications to 7.7 million people ahead of Primaries and the General Election. This was done illegally and without authorization by a rogue Secretary of State. I will ask to hold up funding to Michigan if they want to go down this Voter Fraud path!” the president also tweeted. Video Below

*Swamp Drain would like to point out that while Democrats are pushing nationwide “vote by mail”, they have not explained exactly how it would be 100% secure, or what measures if any, lawmakers could enact to ease concerns of voter fraud.

On Thursday, President Trump emphasized: “We don’t want to take any chances with fraud in our elections.”

The president also tweeted on Thursday an article by Breitbart: “DOJ: Democrats Paid Pennsylvania Election Officials to Stuff Ballot Box”.
