Former Vice President Biden delivered remarks Tuesday in New Castle, Delaware over the third plank of his “Build Back Better” economic recovery plan. He declined to take questions from press.

During his prepared speech, Biden criticized President Trump’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, arguing that the president has “quit on you, and he’s quit on this country”.

“This man simply does not understand. He can’t deal with our economic crisis without serving, saving and solving the public health crisis,” Joe Biden claimed. … You know, he’s quit on you, and he’s quit on this country, but this election is not just about him. It’s about us. It’s about you. It’s about what we’ll do, what a president’s supposed to do.”

Following his remarks on Tuesday, however, the former vice president hurried off of stage and declined to answer questions from the press. “Thank you for listening,” Biden told reporters, before they shouted questions at him. “I look forward to having your questions at another time. I’m off to another event.”

Meanwhile, President Trump tweeted on Tuesday over COVID-19: “You will never hear this on the Fake News concerning the China Virus, but by comparison to most other countries, who are suffering greatly, we are doing very well – and we have done things that few other countries could have done!”

He also said there is “tremendous progress being made on vaccines and therapeutics”.
