Rep. Greene Trolls Dem Colleague With A Sign Right Outside Of Her Office: “She Can Look At It Every Time She Opens Her Door”

Rep. Marie Newman (D-IL), whose office is directly across from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), hung up a transgender flag to send a message to the Georgia congresswoman for opposing a bill: The Equality Act, which in part, prohibits an individual from being denied access to a shared facility, including a restroom, a locker room, and a dressing room, that is in accordance with the individual’s gender identity.

In response to Newman’s flag, Greene trolled her Democratic colleague by hanging up a sign right outside of her office, which read: “There are TWO genders: MALE & FEMALE. ‘Trust The Science!'”

The debate comes as Democrats are expected to pass The Equality Act, though, some conservatives have expressed concerns that the legislation could infringe upon religious liberty or lead to inequality in athletic competitions if transgender women compete against cisgender women.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene filed a motion to adjourn the House Wednesday in an effort to delay passage of the bill. However, the motion was denied. She also spoke against the bill on the House floor, saying it needs to be struck down and that she was concerned that transgender girls and women would be able to compete in girls’ and women’s sporting events.

Rep. Marie Newman shared a video on Twitter Wednesday, in which she is seen putting a transgender pride flag outside of her office. “Our neighbor, @RepMTG, tried to block the Equality Act because she believes prohibiting discrimination against trans Americans is ‘disgusting, immoral, and evil,'” she wrote in the tweet Wednesday.

“Thought we’d put up our Transgender flag so she can look at it every time she opens her door,” Rep. Newman said. Continued Below

Shortly after, Rep. Greene posted a video of her own on Twitter. In it, she hung a sign that reads: “There are TWO genders: MALE & FEMALE. ‘Trust The Science!'”

“Our neighbor, @RepMarieNewman, wants to pass the so-called ‘Equality’ Act to destroy women’s rights and religious freedoms. Thought we’d put up ours so she can look at it every time she opens her door,” Greene tweeted.

Meanwhile, the conservative Heritage Foundation, which opposes the bill, says it could threaten religious freedoms, give transgender athletes an unfair advantage and harm constitutional freedoms. Video Below
