Our sweet First Lady was in the Reading Nook earlier today on the White House lawn! She was reading to the children during the White House Easter Egg Roll!
She is simply so kind hearted! (Video Below)
Today, she read a book at the Easter Egg roll book called YOU written by Sandra Magsamen.
The First Lady was very kind and considerate to the children. First, she mentioned that it was cold outside and she hoped that everyone was warm!
To stay warm, Melania was dressed in a striking Easter powder blue coat dress with black slacks. It is clear that Punxsutawney Phil had indeed seen his shadow!
Because of the wind and the chill in the air, she quickly read the amazing book called YOU. (Video Below)
The book encouraged the children to explore and never give up, to be clever and curious, and that everyday to remember to smile and shine. Additionally, if you fall down, to get back up and fly. (More below.)
Actually, these are wonderful sentiments, even for adults.
So, the children wouldn’t be cold, Melania finished quickly and the crowd erupted in cheers that could be heard around the lawn. (Video Below)

This is our First Lady’s second reading at the Nook at Easter! Last year in 2017, she read a book called “Party Animals” by Kathie Lee Gifford and she selected it because the theme is that “we are all different, but we are all the same.”
Last year it was obviously much warmer, as our First Lady wore an Easter powder pink spring dress, while she spoke much longer.
