It appears NBC wants a narrative that the personal attorney to the President is guilty of something so illegal that he had to be wiretapped. Except that, while Tom Winter of NBC reports that Michael Cohen was wiretapped. He wasn’t.
Certainly, Tom Winter issues a retraction. Although, it is one more example of the media exuding their power to have false stories circulate first and do it’s damage. Then issue a faint retraction that few people actually see.
President Trump and Donald Trump Jr. DEMOLISH the fake NBC story narrative!
Politico reports, “NBC News issued both on-air and online corrections to state that Michael Cohen, the attorney at the center of efforts to silence allegations of an affair between Trump and porn actress Stormy Daniels, had not been wiretapped but instead had been the target of a “pen register,” a monitoring of limited logs of telephone calls.”
After the false report, the “reporter”, Tom Winter, issues a tweet stating: “Correction: Earlier today NBC News, and this reporter, said that Michael Cohen’s phone lines were wiretapped. 3 Senior U.S. Officials now dispute that, saying the monitoring was limited to a log of calls (pen register) not a wiretap of Cohen’s lines. We will continue to report.”
Then enters in Donald J. Trump Jr.! And it’s brilliant! His logic is right on target. He says in a tweet: “Another YUGE mistake… weird that all the errors the media makes always seem to be errors against @realDonaldTrump and never in his favor. I wonder why that is??? It’s beyond ridiculous at this point!” (MORE BELOW.)
Standing with his son, Pres Trump chimes in on twitter and says, “NBC NEWS is wrong again! They cite “sources” which are constantly wrong. Problem is, like so many others, the sources probably don’t exist, they are fabricated, fiction! NBC, my former home with the Apprentice, is now as bad as Fake News CNN. Sad!”
It’s good to see the First family defend themselves against the fake news instead of allowing themselves to be railroaded.

It is astounding that in an effort to make it appear that Michael Cohen is covering for the President of the United States, NBC issues a false story that Cohen was the subject of wiretapping by the Government.
