Up on Capitol Hill there was a foreign relations hearing today. Senator Tom Udall (NM-D) was grilling Mike Pompeo, Secretary of State.
Udall was trying his hardest to say that Trump must release his tax returns to prove that POTUS has no foreign policy agenda mixing with his business dealings. (MORE BELOW.)
If Udall bothered to keep up, he would know that President Trump is likely the only President who has gone in richer and is worth less during his Presidency.
Most former politicians like Obama go in with 400 thousand in the bank and come out with 30 million. Now, how does THAT happen?
I suppose Udall forgot what Harry S. Truman famously said, “You can’t get rich in politics unless you’re a crook.” – Harry S. Truman.
Pompeo unleashed on Udall. And in the end, Udall all but agreed. This is brilliant! (MORE BELOW.)
Udall begins by asking Pompeo, “Given that the president refuses to disclose his tax returns, how can you assure the American people that American foreign policy is free of his personal conflicts of interest?”
Pompeo with great confidence responds, “Senator, I find that question bizarre.”
Udall took the defense stance immediately and prematurely asks, “You don’t want to answer it then?” Then with great indignation says, “You want to describe it as bizarre and not give me an answer?” (MORE BELOW.)
Pompeo responds that yes, he does want to answer and adds, “I think that’s indicative of my answer, Senator. I’ve been incredibly involved in this administration’s policy now for some 16 months and I’ve seen literally no evidence of what you are scurrilously suggesting.”
Then the Secretary of State puts the nail in Udall’s political coffin and added, “It is an outrageous suggestion!”
Udall claims that “many” people have “raised” the same question. Then Pompeo turns into Superman and chuckles. He says, “Yes sir. Yes sir. It has. Want me to tell you who those folks are and what their political interests are?” BOOM!
Then Udall says, “Yes. It’s fake news.” At least Udall admitted the truth.

Newsflash! The American people are more concerned with POTUS completing the agenda we voted him in to get done. And we are less concerned with the mountains of Trump tax forms! It is not even clear, that IF Udall took a gander at Pres Trump’s tax forms that he would even understand them!
