The President will receive a full briefing ahead of the Inspector General (IG) report to Congress this afternoon. The IG report will focus on the how the Clinton email investigation was handled by the former FBI and DOJ. James Comey may be the disgraced star of the report.

It appears, Bloomberg has received a copy ahead of Congress. Bloomberg’s Chris Strohm reports the following sneak peak: (SNEAK PEAK BELOW.)

While we did not find that these decisions were the result of political bias on Comey’s part, we nevertheless concluded that by departing so clearly and dramatically from FBI and department norms, the decisions negatively impacted the perception of the FBI and the department as fair administrators of justice,” Inspector General Michael Horowitz said in the report’s conclusions, which were obtained Thursday by Bloomberg News.”

VOX reports:

1) Comey’s actions in the Clinton case departed “clearly and dramatically from FBI and department norms” and hurt the “perception of the FBI” — but they weren’t the result of “political bias.”

2) Specifically, it was not Comey’s job to publicly proclaim what a “reasonable prosecutor” should do in the Clinton case — the FBI is supposed to investigate, while the Justice Department makes charging decisions. (continued below.)

3) Texts between affair-having FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page did have political bias, but the IG found no evidence that “improper considerations” affected their investigative actions.

The full Inspector General report by Michael Horowitz will be available to the public in a few hours. Meanwhile, POTUS tweets moments ago.

“Now that I am back from Singapore, where we had a great result with respect to North Korea, the thought process must sadly go back to the Witch Hunt, always remembering that there was No Collusion and No Obstruction of the fabricated No Crime.” (See tweet below.)
