On Friday evening, Sarah Sanders did what many ordinary Americans do after a week of work, and that is grabbing a bite to eat at a restaurant.
Sarah ended up at Red Hen restaurant along with seven of her family members in Lexington, VA. And what should have been a simple dine-in experience turned awful, as she along with her family were kicked out of the restaurant over political differences. See Below
Sanders briefly described her encounter in a tweet posted Saturday morning, in which she said:
“Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left. Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so.”

Soon after the situation went down, Red Hen quickly got served an immediate dose of Karma for their actions. Based on 94 reviews, Red Hen looked to have a 4.5 star rating on Yelp before the incident with Sanders. But their star rating quickly plummeted to 2.5 stars after people heard how Sarah was treated, based on over 7000 reviews. Here is proof:

And the comments were mixed, as some praised the restaurant over their decision, while many others voiced disgust for the owner’s actions.

“I would never eat at any restaurant that is against our basic freedoms in America to disagree and have an opinion. The moment the Left behaves like this, is the moment we know the owners are not patriots.
I am so tired of people being disgusting, violent and using profanity just because they have a different political opinion. If we all acted this way, America would be a ruinous country ruled by anarchy.
This is truly disgusting and appalling. I am outraged.”

In the age of internet, business owners, like the one at Red Hen, may want to think before taking controversial action, as you may end up biting the hand that feeds you.
Restaurants rely on positive reviews and word of mouth to gain business. In this case, many on the right or even moderates on both sides, potentially good customers, could be taking their money elsewhere after they find out how Sarah was treated. That’s the beauty of capitalism.
