There is no question that Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) is like a pit bull on the Senate floor! He does NOT disappoint this time either!
Tenacious, unafraid and mincing no words, Paul shut Sanders down in an amazing show down!
The 115th Congress has less than a week to go until they are in recess and reconvene in September.
So, Bernie Sanders (I-VT) thought bringing a Russia resolution to the Senate floor was of the utmost importance!
The Sanders resolution that could not wait until after the recess, includes backing “the intelligence community’s assessment of Russian election interference,” as reports The Hill.
Bernie’s resolution also demands that “President Trump speak with special counsel Robert Mueller!”
Well, Senator Paul had a thing or two to say about THAT!
And in the way only a feisty doctor from Kentucky can, he said it brilliantly, point-blank and without hesitation!
Furthermore, Paul announces what afflicts Bernie while he was at it! And in three words, Paul diagnosis Bernie!
The Kentucky Senator says, “Trump Derangement Syndrome has officially come to the Senate!”
Senator Paul continues, “The hatred for the president is so intense that partisans would rather risk war than give diplomacy a chance,” Rand said in no uncertain terms.
He then wants to know why Senators would want to cut off relations with Russia?
Specifically, citing historical context with Gorbachev and Reagan. Also, with Kennedy with Khrushchev and how important it is to have open communication and not cut off diplomacy.
Rand was against adding more sanctions and cutting off talks with Russia. Then he points out the ludicrousness of calling the President treasonous, he says, “and anyone who talks to the Russians has committed treason?”
“For goodness sakes! We have the former head of the CIA, John Brennan, gallivanting across the TV! Now, being paid for his opinion to call the President treasonous,” he rails!
Then insistently Rand says, “This has got to STOP. This is crazy hatred of the President. This is crazy partisanship that is driving this.”
