Sunday night President Trump fired a shot at Iranian President Rouhani in a fiery tweet.

The President tweeted, “To Iranian President Rouhani: NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!”

This comes after Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday warned the U.S. against taking aggressive action that could lead to war with Iran.
“America should know that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace, and war with Iran is the mother of all wars,” Rouhani told a group of Iranian diplomats, according to Reuters.
Rouhani also said pursuing hostile policies against Iran would “only lead to regret.”
“You are not in a position to incite the Iranian nation against Iran’s security and interests,” Rouhani added.
Tensions between the U.S. and Iran have been heightened for years, dating back well before the Trump administration.
However, President Trump rattled allies and Iran with his decision to withdraw the U.S. from the Iran nuclear deal earlier this year. The agreement offered Tehran sanctions relief in exchange for Tehran limiting its nuclear program, per The Hill.
