Fox News reported, “In a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Tuesday obtained exclusively by Fox News, Rubio said that Americans “deserve to know that U.S. laws are enforced regardless of any individual’s past position.”
“He encouraged the department to determine whether Kerry violated the Logan Act or the Foreign Agents Registration Act,” the exclusive report cited. (More below.)
The current State Department shot off a warning signal to Kerry.
As reported by the Washington Examiner, “Kerry said, and acknowledged that his talks were occurring without the Trump administration’s approval.”
Specifically, “former Secretary of State John Kerry should not try to undermine President Trump’s Iran strategy through his own outreach to the regime, a senior State Department official warned Thursday,” cited the Washington Examiner.
In a formal statement, Manisha Singh, the Assistant Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, told the House Foreign Affairs Committee, “I don’t have personal knowledge of those meetings, but, if that is happening, again, I would find it very inappropriate.” (Continued below.)
Catch 22. Kerry is BUSTED.
President Trump weighed in and tweeted: John Kerry had illegal meetings with the very hostile Iranian Regime. Which can only serve to undercut our great work to the detriment of the American people. He told them to wait out the Trump Administration! Was he registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act? BAD!
“Kerry’s spokesman Matt Summers said in a statement ‘There’s nothing unusual, let alone unseemly or inappropriate, about former diplomats meeting with foreign counterparts,’” Fox reported.
So – if there is nothing wrong with diplomats meeting with foreign counterparts – then what is the big deal about the Trump campaign meeting with Russians?
According to Kerry – it’s okay if he does it…but not okay if the Trump campaign does it. (More below.)
