The left has went into full meltdown mode demonstrating manufactured outrage at the Border Patrol’s use of tear gas against the migrant caravan.
However, it seems they have conveniently forgotten that this strategy is not new and has been happening since Obama was in office. (Video Below)
According to Homeland Security, tear gas was used during the Obama administration. Further, it was sometimes used more than once a month until 2013 when the use of the gas significantly dropped.
President Trump and his administration are not backing down from the backlash or holding back from tweeting his disapproval of the caravan.
Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen released a statement that claimed some migrants “attempted to breach legacy fence infrastructure along the border and sought to harm [U.S. Customs and Border Protection] personnel by throwing projectiles at them.”
Due to the aggression toward Border Patrol agents, they retaliated with non-lethal force. The tear gas was used in a difficult situation against those who were trying to rush the border, via IJR. (Video Below)
During Tuesday’s White House press briefing, a reporter asked about the tear gas and press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders slips him an Obama-reality check.
He asked Sarah if the White House regrets using tear gas, and she responded reminding him of the previous administration’s use of tear gas. “Lets also not forget that this isn’t the first time that non-lethal force like this has been used. In fact, tear gas was used on average, once a month, during the Obama administration for very similar circumstances.” Sarah said.
“In fact, they were actually for far less circumstances, because they didn’t have the same numbers in the mass rush that we’re seeing in this Caravan take place. Certainly, no one wants women or children or any individuals to have this happen, which is why we’ve encouraged them to actually follow the law and go to ports of entry.” Sarah added. (Video Below)
