Former FBI Director, James Comey testified on Capitol Hill Monday for the second time, behind closed-doors, under scrutiny from House law makers.
After the second GOP deposition, Catherine Herridge, Chief Intelligence correspondent from Fox News along with other reporters, interviewed Comey briefly before he left the building.
Republican lawmakers questioned James Comey on his handling of the Russia special counsel probe and the Clinton email scandal during the 2016 Presidential election.
Afterwards, reporters caught up to the former FBI Director in the hallway before he could make a run for it.
Once in front of the press and cameras, the embattled former FBI Director seemed to have no problem with a national face-time so he could spin his narcissistic perspective, take his opportunity to bash the President and Republicans, or recite left wing media propaganda. (Continued Below)
When asked if he was to blame for the FBI’s poor reputation, and if he shared any responsibility in it, he replied, “no.”
Comey said, “the FBI has taken a big hit because the President of the United States with his accolades has lied about it constantly.”
“Republicans used to understand that the actions of a president matter, the words of a president matter, the rule of law matters and the truth matters. Where are those Republicans today?” Comey added, “At some point, someone has to stand up and face the fear of Fox News, fear of their base, fear of mean tweets, stand up for the values of this country and not slink away into retirement but stand up and speak the truth.” (Continued Below)
A few hours later, Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders took to twitter and dropped a truth bomb on Comey for all to see.
Sanders wrote in response to Comey, “Republicans should stand up to Comey and his tremendous corruption – from the fake Hillary Clinton investigation, to lying and leaking, to FISA abuse, and a list too long to name. The President did the country a service by firing him and exposing him for the shameless fraud he is”
