Amid The Senate Vote On Border Security, Trump Sends Warning To Resisters: ‘Shutdown If Dems Vote No’

Early Friday morning, in a series of eleven tweets, President Trump discussed the upcoming Wall Bill vote in the Senate today on Capitol Hill.

President Trump tweeted, the results of the vote yesterday, “House Republican Vote, 217-185“. The Bill with the 5.7 billion for Border Wall funding will go to the Senate today. (MORE BELOW.) 

Senators make their way back to Capitol Hill today to vote on The Wall Bill

President Trump with his transparent style, tweeted early Friday morning, about the upcoming vote in the Senate today.

First, he delivered a message to the Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and said that, “McConnell should fight for the Wall and Border Security as hard as he fought for anything.”

The President then said, Mitch would “need Democrat votes, but as shown in the House, good things happen and mentioned that “House Republicans were great yesterday!”

President Trump then gave objections to the Democratic talking points against The Wall. He said, “the Democrats are trying to belittle the concept of a Wall, calling it old fashioned. The fact is there is nothing else’s that will work, and that has been true for thousands of years. It’s like the wheel, there is nothing better.” (MORE BELOW.) 

President Trump called out the elephant in the room. The Wall will save money in the end. 

President Trump discussed the marriage between technology and a “properly designed and built wall [sic]” and that they “work.”

He then batted down the Democrat talking point that walls don’t work. He simply said, “Democrats are lying when they say they don’t.” Additionally, he gave the example that in “Israel the Wall is 99.9% successful. Will not be any different on our Southern Border!”

President Trump then added, “Hundreds of $Billions saved!” Although many factors are at play, the truth is in one year The Wall would pay for itself. The cost of illegal immigration to taxpayers according to watchdog.org is approximately 116 billion annually.  (MORE BELOW.) 

President Trump calls for the Nuclear Option in the Senate today. 

President Trump then sent out a tweet thanking the House Republicans. He said, “No matter what happens today in the Senate, Republican House Members should be very proud of themselves. They flew back to Washington from all parts of the World in order to vote for Border Security and the Wall. Not one Democrat voted yes, and we won big. I am very proud of you!”

Then President Trump discussed the “The Democrats, whose votes we need in the Senate.” He said they know The Wall “is DESPERATELY NEEDED.”

President Trump said, “People don’t want Open Borders and Crime!” And then said, “Shutdown today if Democrats do not vote for Border Security!”

Additionally, he added, “We will get it done, one way or the other! (MORE BELOW.) 

“Mitch, use the Nuclear Option and get it done! Our Country is counting on you!” – President Trump 

Late Thursday evening, Senator Steven Daines (R-MT) was the first to float the idea that “using the ‘nuclear option’ to effectively change the Senate’s rules to make it easier to agree to the latest House-passed spending bill that provides in excess of $5 billion in funds for the wall at the U.S.-Mexico border,” as reported by Roll Call.

Daines tweeted, “House just passed a bill that fully funds government and enables to secure our border/build the wall. Senate can do same by eliminating the filibuster. 51 votes, same as we do for judges!”

Friday morning, toward the end of the transparent tweeting session by President Trump, he had a direct message for the Senate Majority Leader, he said, “Mitch, use the Nuclear Option and get it done! Our Country is counting on you!”

And in the final tweet, President Trump acknowledged the Senator who brought it to the table for the American people. “Thank you for being willing to go with the so-called nuclear option in order to win on DESPERATELY NEEDED Border Security! Have my total support.” (See tweets below.)
