It’s been twenty days into the government shutdown, and Democrats have still shown no willingness to negotiate with President Trump on border security and his proposed wall.
Trump has repeatedly insisted on using a Plan B option of declaring a national emergency to see his wall through if there is no negotiable path with Democrats.
Now that Pelosi is refusing to strike a deal with funding for the wall in mind, Senator Lindsey Graham is pushing for the President to go with the other option.
On Thursday, Senator Graham released a statement demanding President Trump go with the option of declaring a national emergency, so that a wall can be built.
His statement comes one day following Trump walking out on a meeting with Pelosi after she expressed that she is not willing to strike a deal with him on border security.
Graham, being the high-ranking Senator that he is, shot off a pair of tweets, giving the President a green light for declaring a national emergency. See Below
Graham said, “Speaker Pelosi’s refusal to negotiate on Wall/Barrier funding – even if the government were to be reopened – virtually ends congressional path to fund Wall/Barrier. Time for President [Trump] to use emergency powers to build Wall/Barrier.”
