The House Judiciary Committee announced Monday that Democrats are going to hear testimony from President Richard Nixon’s White House counsel and Watergate figure John Dean during hearings into alleged collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign.

Dean is a frequent and relentless Trump critic. In April, he called Trump a “nitwit” after President Trump said he would be spared impeachment by the Supreme Court.

In a statement, Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) said President Trump and his campaign aides “welcomed help” from Russia, which was working to help Trump win. Nadler said Trump obstructed the investigation, which was confirmed by the Mueller report, he added.

“No one is above the law. While the White House continues to cover up and stonewall and to prevent the American people from knowing the truth, we will continue to move forward with our investigation,” Nadler said.

Tuesday, during a segment on Fox News with host Shannan Bream, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH), cut through the chase and explained what John Dean’s pending testimony is really all about.

He responded to the Democrat’s motives, implying that they are only interested in “getting the President” through impeachment, adding that “they are not helping the country.” (Continued Below)

Jordan insisted that he wants to hear from Robert Mueller and said that he has questions for him. He specifically wants to know did when did Robert Mueller actually know there was no collusion. “That was the central focus of what your Special Counsel investigation was supposed to be about,” he said of Mueller’s probe.

“Remember James Comey told us last Congress when we deposed him– he told us that after 10 months from July 2016 through May 2017, after 10 months of investigating, they had zero, no evidence of any type of coordination of collusion, [or] conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia influence the election,” he pointed out.

Then he noted, “If the FBI couldn’t come up with anything in 10 months, how long did it take Bob Mueller to confirm what Jim Comey already knew– there was no collusion. And when he learned that, why didn’t he tell the country? Why did he take 22 months and 30 million dollars for this investigation?” (Video Below)

Jordan explained why: “Because he was trying to find some kind of obstruction of justice. This is so important, make no mistake about it, if Bob Mueller and 19 Democrat lawyers out to get the President… if they could’ve proved obstruction of justice– if they could’ve established obstruction of justice, they’d have said so. They couldn’t and they didn’t say so in their report.”

He concluded that after 22 months, 33 million dollars, 19 lawyers, 40 FBI agents, 500 witnesses, 2800 subpoenas they have nothing.

“If they could’ve established obstruction, they would’ve done it. They couldn’t. They were out to get the President, but they couldn’t prove it. The Democrats don’t want to leave this alone and keep pushing because their focus is on getting the President and not helping the country,” Jordan said.
