Sarah Sanders issued a statement in reaction to the newly struck deal between Mexico and the United States that led to President Trump pulling the threat of 5% tariffs off the table.

The agreement was made with hopes of containing the crisis that now exists at the US/Mexico border, which puts pressure on Mexico to intensify their committment in the matter.

Sanders said, “Despite no help from the do-nothing Democrats in Congress, President @realDonaldTrump secured billions in funding to build the wall and an unprecedented commitment from Mexico to stem the tide of illegal immigration.”

She added, “That’s leadership and another historic win for America.”

Moments after Sarah’s tweet, Mike Huckabee gave a rare correction to his daughter, where he targeted Republican Senators who betrayed President Trump’s tariff idea that ultimately pushed Mexico quickly to the negotiation table.

Huckabee said, “I hate correcting my own daughter, but @PressSec should mention the “no help” from the Senate GOP as well. @POTUS & his team did all the lifting. Many GOP Senators actually pulled in opposite direction.” See Below
