On Thursday, President Trump announced that White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be leaving her position at the end of the month and heading back to Arkansas.
Sanders called serving the President an “honor of a lifetime” and said she “couldn’t be prouder” of the administration’s work.
Former Arkansas Governor, and father to Sarah Sanders, Mike Huckabee, joined host Bill Hemmer on Friday where he weighed in on his daughters White House departure.
“[Sarah] is a warrior. She’s definitely a great kid, I’m very proud of her. I’m proud of all of my children and her two brothers, as well. But she served admirably, and she served loyally and faithfully,” Huckabee expressed.
He praised the Commander in Chief and said, “Let me pay tribute to President Trump. He has treated her with the highest level of dignity and respect and kindness. She is incredibly loyal to him and indeed grateful for the experience of a lifetime.”
Huckabee noted that Sarah got to live it up, explaining that just last week she had dinner with Queen Elizabeth and lunch with Prince Charles, among some of her White House experiences. “What a life she’s been able to enjoy!” he declared. (Continued Below)
The former Arkansas Governor added that Sarah loves President Trump and will always be grateful for the way that Trump treated her.
“If you want to share with us what are her plans next after she leaves at the end of the month from the West Wing… Is a political run her next path?” Bill Hemmer asked Huckabee.
Huckabee responded, “Well not only do I not know, she doesn’t know either. She’s really wanting to have some time to decompress, spend some time with her kids and just enjoy part of the summer away from all of it, and then, she’ll start looking at the future.” (Continued Below)
He went on to say that Sarah hasn’t made any “specific plans”.
“I don’t know if she’ll run for office, but I tell you if she does, she’ll be a great candidate and a terrific office holder, whatever it might be. I would encourage her, we’ll see,” he explained.
