President Trump delivered remarks from the Oval Office Friday and signed a Safe Third asylum agreement with Guatemala.
He further took a few questions from the press pool and pushed back at Democrats, the border crisis, and suggested issuing subpoenas for former President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
President Trump brought up the idea of issuing subpoenas for records related to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton pointing out that Democrats have been doing similar probes into his own life.
He accused Democrats of engaging in a “fishing” expedition as they continue to request and demand records related to the Trump family and businesses.
On Friday, the House Judiciary Committee announced they are suing for the secret grand jury information contained in former special counsel Robert Mueller’s report, suggesting that the key to “impeaching” Trump is hidden those materials.
“All the Democrats want to do is impede and investigate. They want to go fishing and I watched Bob Mueller, and they have nothing. We want to find out what happened with the last Democrat president,” the Commander in Chief said on Friday. (Continued Below)
“Let’s look into Obama the way they looked at me from day one,” he continued. “They’ve looked into everything that we’ve done. They could look into the book deal that President Obama made. Let’s subpoena all of his records. Let’s subpoena all of the records having to do with Hillary Clinton and all of the nonsense that went on with Clinton and her Foundation.”
“We could do that all day long,” the President warned. “[Republicans] didn’t do what these people have done. What these people are doing is so destructive to our country and I think that’s why we’re gonna take back the House. That’s why we’re easily gonna hold the Presidency and we’re gonna continue to hold the Senate. It’s a disgrace that they’re doing it. They’re doing it for political reasons and most of them are admitting that. It’s politics. And frankly, it’s a very sad thing for our country.”
He also called the Democrats “clowns” and said they are being laughed at. “These people are clowns, the Democrats are clowns. They’re being laughed at all over the world, Trump declared.”
President Trump believes that Robert Mueller didn’t read the report and he said that he watched this go on for 2 and half years adding, “that’s the best they have and it’s a disgrace.”
“The world is laughing at them,” he added.
