Secretary of State Antony Blinken and national security advisor Jake Sullivan will meet in Anchorage, Alaska, on March 18 with the People’s Republic of China’s Yang Jiechi, a member of the Communist Party’s top decision-making body, and Wang Yi, the foreign minister, CNBC reported.
“The meeting will take place following Secretary Blinken’s meetings with two of our closest regional allies in Tokyo and Seoul,” the State Department wrote in a statement Wednesday. Blinken is expected to make his first trip abroad as secretary of state next week.
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” on Thursday of Blinken’s upcoming meeting, “The Chinese Communist Party didn’t give an inch, and in the Trump administration, we didn’t give an inch. We imposed real costs on the Chinese Communist Party. I hope this administration is prepared to do that too.”
“With respect to the Wuhan virus, Secretary Blinken ought to in my judgement, make it very clear to the Chinese Communist Party that you know, we sit on this anniversary where the World Heath Organization declared a pandemic, but of course, we knew about this. The Chinese Communist Party knew about this weeks, and weeks, and weeks before this, one year ago today,” Pompeo said.
“They inflicted an enormous loss of life here in the United States. They affected enormous devastation and wealth creation all across the world. There’s still people who are suffering from this. I think the United States has a responsibility to make clear to the Chinese Communist Party that they must be held accountable. And second, we still don’t know the answers, precisely where this virus came from. They know. They need to share it with the world,” he recommended.
Asked how does he think the virus started and where, Pompeo replied, “We know with near certainty that this came from Wuhan, and there is substantial evidence of what was taking place inside of that laboratory.” Continued Below
“We know secondly, that are a set of facts. I released a fact sheet in early January of this year, which made clear there were certain facts that make it strongly and indicative that this came out of that laboratory though what was likely an accidental leak,” Pompeo explained, referring to the Fact Sheet he released on on January 15, 2021.
“And then, the third pillar is that the Chinese Communist Party won’t let anybody in that lab to look at what happened. They disappeared journalists. They made doctors who knew what happened, go away. That coverup itself is a crime,” he stated.
“And the fact that they won’t let the world know precisely where this came from when the Chinese Communist Party most assuredly knows, is a strong indication it came from a place like the lab–they don’t want the world to know about,” the former secretary of state said. Video Below

"The WIV has a published record of conducting “gain-of-function” research to engineer chimeric viruses. But the WIV has not been transparent or consistent about its record of studying viruses most similar to the COVID-19 virus"

It’s worth noting, former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe released a memo that was signed on January 7, 2021, which stated on page 3, “The People’s Republic of China sought to influence the 2020 U.S. federal elections”, as reported by The Freedom Times.
