After Newt Questions His Integrity, WATCH Sessions CLAW His Way Back

Maria Bartiromo of Fox News invited Jeff Sessions to an EXCLUSIVE interview on Sunday Morning Futures! And what she asked him, is what every American wants to know.

Maria didn’t hold back, asking Sessions the hard hitting questions.

During the interview, it seemed at times Sessions was back peddling, but Maria didn’t let him slip away. She hit it home by continuing to probe WHY he recused himself!

She began by mentioning all of the lawlessness that occurred over the past 8 to 10 years. And touched on FISA abuse by both the FBI and DOJ during the election, which was likely due to the fact that both departments hated Donald Trump.

Maria then laid down the hammer  telling Sessions exactly what the American people want:

 “People wanted you to start handing out Justice!” 

Maria put the phrase the “proof is in the pudding” into play and whipped out a big bowl of Newt Gingrich, while Sessions sat at the table listening. Newt is heard saying:

“He is not in any way recused from this information. He should be appointing an independent counsel. He should be demanding that we get to the bottom of this.

“I’m totally mystified because he’s a great guy. He’s a solid conservative. Certainly, in his career he has been a fighter. And this behavior is totally unlike everything I knew about Jeff Sessions before the last six or eight months,” Newt said.

Sessions shot back by discussing how his DOJ will “do a proper disclosure to the court before they issue a FISA warrant.” Maria then asked if we needed another special counsel in place to look at how the FBI and the DOJ abused it’s power?

Carefully, Sessions replied, “Well, the Inspector General has been working very hard on that. He’s been relentless and tough. I’ve seen some of his work that’s been produced already.”

Sessions then alluded that the IG and DOJ have been working together. (With the text messages that have recently been disclosed.) Sessions said that his DOJ has given Congress documents and records “beyond anything” that has been “produced in history.”

“We have a responsibility to ensure the integrity of this process,” Session’s continued. “I’m going to use my authority as the Attorney General to ensure that. But, the management of this case, of which I am recused is in the hands of Mr. Mueller and supervised by the acting Attorney General for this investigation. Rod Rosenstein is a proven professional and the Deputy General.”

Maria didn’t let Mr. Sessions off lightly.

Additionally, Maria asked about the Comey leak and Session’s said there are 27 cases of classified leaks. Additionally, Maria asked about the re-opening of the Hillary Clinton email case and if there will be accountability and charges. Sessions refused to answer that particular question and said:

 

“We can’t do that in the media. We have to restore the rule of law. We’re going to restore propriety and how cases are managed. And that’s all I can promise you.”

Furthermore, Maria capped it off by hitting a home run when she asked point blank, “Do you regret recusing yourself from anything Russia, Sir?” And Sessions, replied, “I believe I did the right thing.”
