The aftermath of the Florida High School shooting that left 17 dead has opened up the national debate on what measures need taken to ensure such a tragedy NEVER happens again.
However, a lot of the talk witnessed over the last few days has turned deeply political, to the point that Broward County’s Sheriff Israel has stepped in the spotlight and is pointing to the NRA and guns as the big problem in America and has even appeared on National TV to push this narrative. At CNN’s Town Hall, Israel said to the NRA’s spokeswoman Dana Loesch, “You are NOT standing up for these students.
And he even went as far as to say:
“I think what we need in America is less guns on our streets, not more guns.”

NRA STRIKES BACK
The NRA was very irked by the Sheriff’s remarks directed towards them and were likely citing a recent USA Today article when they responded with:
“No Sheriff Israel you were the one that didn’t PROTECT these children and that is your job. You run the largest fully accredited sheriff’s office in the United States, yet your office failed this community.”

In a recent USA Today article, it was found out recently that there were as many as 18 calls about Nikolas Cruz’s violence, threats and guns and Sheriff Israel did absolutely nothing about it. And as a result, as the NRA claims, Broward County Sheriff Department ran by Israel failed their community.
Besides, Sheriff Israel and much of Broward County was in the back pocket of Hillary Clinton and clearly supports her policies, which includes disarming much of America. So his logic and statements are clearly political and likely in the best interest of the Democratic party and are in line with their media arms, such as CNN. It should be no surprise he said what he said.

His officers, with guns, cowardly stayed behind their cars while the students were killed. If a citizen had been there, with a gun, they would have enter and shot that man and saved lives. Taking guns away is not going to solve the problem. They took the guns away in Australia. Did that help them,”no”. They have more crimes now than they did before. You can get guns on the black market. So, we need to realize that we have some people out there that have mental issues. This was reported that he was mentally unstable. Why wasn’t anybody doing anything about it? You can’t cover up mistakes that you make or can you by asking that the guns be taken away.

I disagree. Sheriff Israel is not an idiot. It something worse than that.He is a coward anti American protecting muslims but not students. He is a progressive(liberal, communist). The attack on these kids was a by-product of removal of God and prayer from the schools and society at large. Every action has a consequence and we are reaping the whirl wind of at least 30 years of steadily devolving policies designed to remove any moral restraints upon us. There are universal natural laws.
