It’s a springtime miracle. We have been ignored, passed over and forgotten and while we may never regain all that we lost, this is the first step in the right direction.

The United States Steel Corporation just announced plans to reopen part of a plant in Illinois after Trump finally stood up for the American worker.

It’s about time and while the tariffs will undoubtedly change over the coming weeks, the fact that we have a politician who finally got tough on trade is a breath of fresh air to the American worker.

It will take years to fix a system broken on purpose by the establishment in both parties, but expect more targeted tariffs to come.

Personally, we are hoping for massive tariffs on overseas call centers so I never, ever have to deal with a foreign national who speaks no english and has no power to actually fix the issue yet somehow is entrusted with at least the last 4 digits of my social security number.

Middle-class jobs are not just in steel or hard goods but are being outsourced across industries.

Our foolish leaders have decided that it is ok for the American worker to have to compete for American jobs with foreign nationals who will work for peanuts.

What a bunch of morons.

“Our Granite City Works facility and employees, as well as the surrounding community, have suffered too long from the unending waves of unfairly traded steel products that have flooded U.S. markets,” said U.S. Steel President and CEO David Burritt.

“We’ve worked closely and cooperatively with leadership of the United Steelworkers to develop a plan that will help us work through the restart process in the safest, most efficient manner possible while enabling longer-term collaboration designed to improve the plant’s competitiveness,” Burritt added.
