President Trump quoted Sen. David Perdue after appearing in an interview discussing the border and the President’s agenda.

The President tweeted, “We can’t secure the Border because of the Democrats historic level of Obstruction. The Presidents fed up with this. His agenda is working. The economy is growing at twice the rate it did under Obama. We’ve nominated and confirmed 68 Federal Judges, 26 Court of Appeals Judges

He added, “The thing that’s lacking is we can’t properly secure the Border because of the Democrats historic level of Obstruction.” Senator David Perdue of Georgia.”

From The Hill:

The Senate voted 93-7 on Tuesday to pass a sweeping $854 billion spending bill that includes funding for the departments of Defense, Health and Human Services, Labor, and Education, which make up the bulk of government spending.

Of the seven senators who opposed the bill, six were Republicans who joined Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in voting “no.”

The House is expected to take up the funding legislation next week, ahead of the Sept. 30 deadline to keep the government funded.

The Senate bill includes a continuing resolution that extends funding for all other agencies through Dec. 7, after the midterm elections.

The inclusion of the resolution in the Department of Homeland Security bill was intended to put off a contentious debate on Trump’s proposed border wall.

In July, Trump reiterated his threat to shut down the federal government this fall if Congress failed to deliver on funding for the wall and additional border security.

“If we don’t get border security after many, many years of talk within the United States, I would have no problem doing a shutdown,” Trump said. “We’re the laughingstock of the world. … We have the worst immigration laws anywhere in the world,” he added.
