Lisa Page, former FBI attorney is squawking up a storm. She was in the room when Rod Rosenstein made his comments about wiring the President and invoking the 25th amendment.
The Daily Beast reported, “two sources told The Daily Beast that FBI lawyer Lisa Page was present for Rod Rosenstein’s comments on secret recordings and did not believe he was joking or being sarcastic.” (More below.)
The TRUTH comes out a little bit at a time.
According to NBC Rosenstein was only joking when he said, “Well, what do you want me to do, Andy, wear a wire?” Rosenstein was reportedly speaking and responded to fired and disgraced former FBI Deputy Director, Andrew McCabe.
NBC reported, who was in the meeting which “included FBI lawyer Lisa Page and four career DOJ officials, according to the senior official.”
Additionally, “one of the career civil servants was Scott Schools, who would later go on to sign off on the firing of McCabe, the official said.”
Yet, Rosenstein’s official statement from the written DOJ statement said: (Statement below.)
Rosenstein’s official statement:
“The New York Times story is inaccurate and factually incorrect. I will not further comment on a story based on anonymous sources who are obviously biased against the department. And are advancing their own personal agenda.
The Deputy AG continued in his statement, “but let me be clear about this. Based on my personal dealings with the President, there is no basis to invoke the 25th Amendment.”
That was Rosenstein’s official statement; however, Lisa Page is telling a different story. (Continued below.)
Lisa was in the room! What did she say?
The Daily Beast reported that “Former FBI lawyer Lisa Page was present for Rosenstein’s comments on secret recordings and did not believe he was joking or being sarcastic,” however, “a spokesperson for Page declined to comment for this story.”
Yet, others in the room say he was only joking.
