Trey Gowdy Slams Schumer Over His Comments On Whitaker & The Mueller Probe

Representative Trey Gowdy (R-SC) joined Fox News with Bret Baier after losing the House to Pelosi during the 2018 midterms. And it is GREAT to see Trey back on the screen!

The South Carolina congressman squared off with Senate Minority Leader, Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in an epic interview about the Mueller probe and Jeff Sessions’ resignation. (VIDEO BELOW.)

Schumer believes Mueller should have ‘unfettered power.’

Matt Whitaker is the new acting Attorney General who is replacing Jeff Sessions after he resigned on Wednesday. Whitaker is not pro-let-Mueller-do-whatever-he-wants to do at the taxpayer’s expense.

During the segment, Bret switches to a shot of the Minority Leader saying he thought Mueller should be able to continue to do anything and everything he wants to do without the new AG interfering with Mueller.

Schumer said, “Our paramount view is…that any Attorney General should not be able to interfere with the Mueller investigation. They should not be able to limit it. They should not be able to end it….and doing what [Mueller] thinks is the right thing.”

In other words, politics according to Schumer should be to let Mueller continue with the media three ring circus with ‘Russia, Russia, Russsia’ as the movie d’jour for the American people. No thanks. We will take a twenty million dollar pass, please. (VIDEO BELOW.)

Trey Gowdy responded to Schumer with common sense FACTS.

We certainly are glad to see Trey back again, and he responded to Schumer in the most logical fashion. He said, “Every prosecutor has jurisdictional boundaries. I do not know a single prosecutor that does not. And Mueller’s jurisdictional boundaries were set by Rod Rosenstein in the memo that you have seen and they were altered/amended in the memo that we have not seen.”

But there’s never been a prosecutor that had unfettered power to go investigate whatever the heck he or she wanted to do,” he continued making it perfectly clear that Mueller should not have special rights in order to keep the media circus going endlessly.
