Trump & Graham Team Up Putting The Pressure On Mitch For A Pair Of Reforms

There’s all kinds of challenges in the Senate these days. With a heavy schedule the lawmakers are finally settling into a pace that makes sense for the American people.

President Trump, Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham are all weighing in on how to get it all done for us!  (MORE BELOW.)

Criminal Justice Reform and the most transparent administration in recent history!

As reported by The Hill, “the bill has roughly 30 Republican backers, but it’s run into a wall of opposition among conservatives, including Cotton and Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.), and concerns from the high-profile National Sheriffs’ Association.”

Early Friday morning, Lindsey Graham tweeted about the controversial bill. Graham said, “Just talked with President . He strongly believes criminal justice reform bill must pass now. He also indicated he supports putting criminal justice reform bill on year-end spending bill which must include MORE wall funding. I agree with both.”

Then around 3 p.m., President Trump responded by tweet. He said, “Hopefully Mitch McConnell will ask for a VOTE on Criminal Justice Reform. It is extremely popular and has strong bipartisan support. It will also help a lot of people, save taxpayer dollars, and keep our communities safe. Go for it Mitch!”

Then an hour and fifteen minutes later, The Hill had a statement from Mitch regarding the Criminal Justice Reform bill, “During a Wall Street Journal event this week, McConnell warned that the criminal justice bill was “extremely controversial” and could eat up to 10 days of the Senate’s schedule, time that he doesn’t have as he tries to fund the government, pass a farm bill and manage an unwieldy debate over the U.S.’s involvement in Yemen’s civil war.” (MORE BELOW.)

Solutions not distractions!

Right on, Mr. President! I urge congressional leaders to include criminal justice reform on the spending bill — ensure victory,” Lindsey tweeted.

Sometimes, it works to piggy back so that it is leverage and doesn’t waste ten days of time. It’s good to see this level of interaction and the transparency is great.
