Thursday evening, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders joined Martha MacCallum on Fox News in an interview where she weighed in on the looming government shutdown over the border security battle.
The press secretary put things in perspective while House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi sits on her high horse. (Video Below)
Beginning the interview, a clip of of Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was played where she said about a government shutdown, “perhaps he [Trump] doesn’t understand people need their paychecks, maybe that’s not the life he leads.”
Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders responded to Pelosi’s remarks, “The President understands people need a paycheck, certainly far more than Nancy Pelosi ever will. He’s signed the front of a paycheck. He knows what a paycheck means.”
Sanders pointed out that the President spent the first two years of his administration making sure more people in America get a paycheck and a job.
She explained the other part of the scenario is President Trump is committed to making sure we the borders are protected. “People can’t get a paycheck if they’re not around because we’ve had people come across and take jobs from them, or even worse, have violent crimes hurt Americans.” (Video Below)
Sarah stated bluntly that President Trump is committed to protecting every single American citizen, and without border security or borders we have no country at all. “He’s calling on democrats to actually step up and do their jobs and protect the American people and work with him in that process.” She said.

She pointed out democrats hypocrisy who have flopped because they won’t join the President in his effort to make America safe. “Frankly, it’s sad, democrats have changed their position so much. If you look back, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Obama, all of these individuals in the past have supported border security.” Sarah explained. (Video Below)
“Democrats have to decide if they love this country more than they hate this President, and so far we’ve seen no indication they’re willing to do that.” Sanders said.
