The Commander in Chief, on Friday evening, took to Twitter where he pushed back at the narrative that he caved when he reopened the government without getting the funding for the border wall.
In a statesmanlike move, President Trump diffused the situation of the government shutdown that was hurting federal employees, but he is not conceding.
The President said he would sign a measure reopening the government for three weeks through Feb. 15.

“I am very proud to announce that we have reached a deal today to end the shutdown and reopen the federal government. After 36 days of spirited debate and dialogue, I have seen and heard from enough Democrats and Republicans that they are willing to put partisanship aside, I think, and put the security of the American people first.” President Trump said Friday.
The President’s decision to reopen the government ends the 35 day shutdown, which was the longest in history. (Continued Below)
While the government is open for three weeks, President Trump gave Congress two options if they can’t come up with a deal or a compromise. He said if they cannot get their job done, he will shut down the government again, or he will declare a national emergency.
“We really have no choice to build a wall or steel barrier. If we don’t get a fair deal from Congress, the government will either shutdown on February 15th again, or I will use the powers afforded to me under the laws and the Constitution of the United States to address this emergency.” The President declared.
If Democrats don’t strike a deal in good faith, they will end up losing DACA. What’s more, Democrats have already voted for the solutions that were put on the table for a deal but have now refused, because they are playing dirty politics. (Continued Below)
Several people hit back at the President after his decision to reopen the government and among one who spoke out was Ann Coulter.
Coulter wrote on Twitter Friday, “Maybe the solution to the border crisis is not deporting 22 million illegals but one Jared Kushner. She also tweeted, “Good news for George Herbert Walker Bush. As of today, he is no longer the biggest wimp ever to serve as President of the United States.”
Surrounding the outcry and backlash the President is receiving, he took to Twitter where he sent out a chill pill to his supporters.
He wrote, “I wish people would read or listen to my words on the Border Wall. This was in no way a concession. It was taking care of millions of people who were getting badly hurt by the Shutdown with the understanding that in 21 days, if no deal is done, it’s off to the races!”
Further, press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders also weighed in and she said, “In 21 days President @realDonaldTrump is moving forward building the wall with or without the Democrats. The only outstanding question is whether the Democrats want something or nothing.” (Continued Below)
