Trump RIPS Dems For Spineless Action Taken Against Omar & Urges Repubs To ‘Stay United’ On Border

President Trump took to Twitter Wednesday afternoon where he doubled down on border security urging Republicans to “stay united!”

The President further blasted House Democrats for not taking a stronger stand against anti-semitism. This comes after Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) made additional remarks about Israel.

President Trump called on Republicans who are thinking about voting against the emergency declaration. While most Republicans in the Senate have supported Trump’s executive order, some have expressed their disapproval for the national emergency.

The House voted last week to block Trump’s emergency declaration, which could help free up billions of dollars to fund a wall on the southern border. The vote was 245-182, with 13 Republicans joining Democrats in voting for the legislation, per Fox News.

But even if the legislation passes, it would almost certainly be vetoed by the White House. In that case, it would require two-thirds majorities in the House and Senate to override the veto — which would be unlikely. (Continued Below)

Trump’s declaration came after Congress OK’d a spending bill that provided $1.4 billion for border barriers at various parts of the border, but much less than the $5.7 billion Trump had demanded. The declaration gives Trump access to an additional $3.6 billion in funding that he can divert to the wall, reported Fox News.

The Commander in Chief urged fellow Republicans to “stay united” in the face of a Democrat-led effort to nix his declaration of a national emergency at the border.

He wrote, “Senate Republicans are not voting on constitutionality or precedent, they are voting on desperately needed Border Security & the Wall. Our Country is being invaded with Drugs, Human Traffickers, & Criminals of all shapes and sizes. That’s what this vote is all about. STAY UNITED!” (Continued Below)

Further, the President blasted Democrats amid tensions over Ilhan Omar.

The freshman lawmaker again found herself in hot water after she said pro-Israel groups are pushing for “allegiance to a foreign country,” a remark that echoed charges of dual loyalty that have been used against Jews for centuries, reported The Hill.

Omar’s latest comments came weeks after she became entangled in controversy over a series of tweets in which she suggested that politicians who back Israel do so only because they receive money from pro-Israel groups.

The President wrote on Twitter Wednesday, “It is shameful that House Democrats won’t take a stronger stand against Anti-Semitism in their conference. Anti-Semitism has fueled atrocities throughout history and it’s inconceivable they will not act to condemn it!”

President Trump also tweeted Monday that the freshman lawmaker’s “terrible” comments were a “dark day for Israel!”

“Representative Ilhan Omar is again under fire for her terrible comments concerning Israel. Jewish groups have just sent a petition to Speaker Pelosi asking her to remove Omar from Foreign Relations Committee. A dark day for Israel!” President Trump expressed.

President Trump last month, suggested that he believes congresswoman Ilhan Omar should either resign from Congress or at least, from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

“I think she should either resign from congress, or she should certainly resign from the House Foreign Affairs Committee,” President Trump told members of the White House Press Pool, adding that the hateful comments are “deep seeded in her heart.”

President Trump also said that her apology was lame and that she didn’t mean a word of it, further noting that it was just not appropriate.
