Trump Fires Back After Jimmy Carter Says Russia Helped Him Win: ‘He Was A Nice Man, He Was A Terrible President’

During a press conference, President Trump addressed comments made by Jimmy Carter regarding the President’s 2016 victory.

Carter suggested Trump’s big win over Hillary Clinton was “illegitimate” and insinuated that Russia was actually the ones responsible for the victory.

Carter’s claim came after President Trump jokingly told Vladimir Putin not to interfere in the next election at the request of a reporter.

In response to Carter, Trump said, “Russia, Russia, Russia…isn’t it crazy?”

“Jimmy Carter, look, he was a nice man, he was a terrible President,” Trump continued. “He’s a Democrat and it’s a typical talking point.”

“He’s loyal to the Democrats, and I guess you should be. But, as everybody now understands, I won not because of Russia, not because of anybody but myself,” Trump stated. Video Below

He added, “I went out and campaigned better, smarter, harder than Hillary Clinton. I went to Wisconsin. I went to Michigan on the night of the vote.”

With that said, Trump said he went onnto win the key states that were the difference maker, including Michigan, Pennsylvania and other states that haven’t traditionally been won by Republicans.

But going back to what Carter said, the President said he was overall surprised by the remarks, and labeled him “the forgotten President.” Video Below
